The Foundation

I grew up in my father’s galleries that sold Native American and Indigenous fine art. I have very vivid memories from when I would visit these spaces as a young child. I remember the friendships my father would develop with the artists he met. His galleries sold Pacific Northwest Native art, and were located in the Pioneer Square area of Seattle. He specialized in Edward Curtis photographs. When I was a teenager, my father passed suddenly. I hope to honor his memory through my life and works. My mother has been a lifelong supporter of Native and Indigenous causes as well as the arts. Her partner of the last twenty years is Tlingit from Kake, Alaska.

I am committed to making a positive contribution towards the lives of others. I hold a B.F.A. from Principia College, in Elsah, Illinois, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England.
